Biobanks: A Tool to Support Research – IRYCIS

The team from Ramón y Cajal University Hospital (IRYCIS), with Bárbara Luna Sánchez, Sofía Pérez Rubio, Julie Earl, and Sonia Camaño Páez, has published a popular science article explaining what a biobank is, its role in biomedical research, and the workflow of the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital Biobank in Madrid, with particular focus on its application to pancreatic cancer research.

The article, produced in collaboration with the Pancreatic Cancer Association, aims to bring science and the role of biobanks closer to patients and the general public, highlighting the importance of donating biological samples and clinical data as a key factor in advancing research and developing new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
