The Andalusian Registry of Donors for Biomedical Research (REDMI) celebrates its tenth anniversary, consolidated as an essential resource for health research and for fostering citizen participation in the generation of biomedical knowledge. This initiative of the Biobank of the Andalusian Public Health System, together with the Regional Ministry of Health, Presidency and Emergencies, currently includes 4,122 registered donors committed to advancing disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
To mark this anniversary, a commemorative event was held at Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital in Granada, paying tribute both to the donors and to the professionals of the Andalusian Public Health System who make this work possible. Over the past ten years, the registry has provided 1,221 biological samples for 31 research projects in areas such as diabetes, neoplasms, autoimmune diseases, and cardiovascular conditions.
From the ISCIII Platform for Biomodels and Biobanks, we would like to extend our sincere congratulations to the team of the Andalusian Public Health System Biobank for these ten years of commitment to biomedical research, citizen participation, and excellence in service to the scientific community.
