Biobank- Bank of Neurological Tissues of the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu

The Biobank- Bank of Neurological Tissues of the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu (Biobank-BTN PSSJD) is authorized by the Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya and it is registered in the National Registry of Biobanks of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III since 2013. It is part of the Brain Platform of CIBERSAM. It manages a multitude of biological samples that are stored and frozen at -80 ºC. It has different collections among which the collection of neurological tissues in schizophrenia stands out. It was collected under a living donation program, and it has a great value and quality for biomedical research. It is also incorporating new collections of biological samples in psychiatric, rheumatological, infectious and oncological diseases through collaborations with research projects of the PSSJD and care services for the collection of research left-over and diagnostic left-over biosamples.
