The Biobank of the Provincial Hospital Consortium of Castellón (CHPCS) is a biomedical research support unit dedicated to the collection, processing, storage, and distribution of human biological samples and associated data for research purposes. It operates in compliance with current regulations, holding the appropriate administrative authorization and being registered in the National Registry of Biobanks of the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII). The biobank supports both internal and external research projects, particularly within the hospital setting, ensuring quality, traceability, and ethical-legal compliance. It is integrated within the clinical environment of the CHPCS and operates under a quality management system certified according to ISO 9001:2015.

Services

The Biobank of the Provincial Hospital Consortium of Castellón provides comprehensive services for the management of human biological samples, with particular emphasis on its solid tumor collections from the Provincial, La Plana, and Vinaròs hospitals, as well as its liquid biopsy collection in oncology, which is of high relevance for translational research. In addition, it holds significant collections in the field of infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, and specific collections linked to research projects in respiratory, metabolic, and dermatological disorders. The biobank supports the distribution of samples and associated data, providing guidance to researchers while consistently ensuring traceability, quality, and ethical and legal compliance, within the framework of a quality management system certified according to ISO 9001:2015.
