Valdecilla Biobank is a research support platform created to promote and facilitate biomedical research through the management of human biological samples and their associated data, guaranteeing strict compliance with current legislation and ethical principles.
Valdecilla Biobank is authorized since July 30, 2012 by the Ministry of Health and Social Services of the Government of Cantabria and is registered with registration No. B.0000162 in the National Biobanks Register of the Health Institute Carlos III. In addition, it is part of the National Biobank Network and the Biobanks & Biomodels Platform, promoted and financed by the Health Institute Carlos III and of the ESBB. The biobank’s quality management system is certified under the ISO9001:2015 standard.
