The Institute of Biomedical Research of A Coruña (INIBIC) is a Health Research Institute accredited by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness from March of 2015 and reaccredited in 2020.

Main lines of activity
• Advice from veterinary experts on animal welfare, selection of experimental models adapted to the protocol, legislative aspects and training in surgical techniques
• Experimental design procedures in pigs, sheep, primates, rats and mice.
• Comprehensive supervision of experimental procedures carried out at the facilities
• Performing surgical technique and assistance during surgical operations
• Control and guarantee of compliance with current regulations in animals and in-vivo experimental procedures.

• Processing of authorization requests before the Ethical Committee for Animal Experimentation of the CHUAC
The INIBIC has pioneering facilities dedicated to supporting all the activities carried out within the framework of research projects. It has an animal center and a breeding and maintenance center for different species for training or research, twelve equipped operating rooms and an area with complete equipment for surgical microscopy, radiology and laparoscopic surgery.
