The Maimonides Biomedical Research Institute of Cordoba (IMIBIC) brings together scientific research and medical practice to generate knowledge with potential of translation into practice, as well as new therapies and innovative products on five main topics: Active aging/Fragility; Nutrition/endocrine and metabolic diseases; Infectious and immunological diseases/organ transplants; Cancer; and Chronic and Inflammatory Diseases. IMIBIC offers a wide range of research technologies, namely Bioinformatics, Genomics, Proteomics, Lipidomics, Metabolomics, Innovation, Flow cytometry, Microscopy and Imaging technologies, including PET-RMN and µ-CT. Clinical findings can be redirected into preclinical experimentation within the Animal Experimentation Unit, which provides facilities for studies with large animals.
